several nodes on a LAN

Dear UEMS users: I have a few linux nodes on a LAN and I'm wondering how to get UEMS to detect them during install. I'm sure folks have done this. The nodes can see each other via SMB at this point. What needs to be set up in advance before trying to get UEMS to install and detect/use all nodes? Tha...

Re: How to run a backtest ?

It sounds like you're talking about the way data is arranged on the data servers, like http://soostrc.comet.ucar.edu/data/grib/ ...so if I understand you correctly, you're trying to do an operational set of forecasts like that to check how your submodel (convection schemes, cloud schemes, etc.) setu...

Re: Data assimilation

Hello Myriam - do you mean assimilating a local weather station? I have not seen global hi-res data, but someone else on this forum might know otherwise.

Re: UEMS and Windfarms

Did you ever get an answer to this question? I believe it is doable in EMS, but your best bet is to head over to the WRF support forum and ask for technical support on what files to edit to include wind farm data. Those files are also in EMS, likely, and you can edit those files in EMS also. http://...

FDDA and local weather stations/sondes

Dear WRFEMS users: It looks like FDDA is readily available in EMS these days. I'm wondering if anyone has tried to assimilate their own weather station(s) (i.e., NOT the NOAA or USGS dataset GRIB files)? I didn't see that in the documentation, but I'm sure there is a way. Likely you have to create y...

Re: Surface Visibility

Sorry, no, I haven't tried that. I would be interested as to whether this is a known problem in WRF. Maybe check out the WRF forums? The WRF tech support folks are very responsive.

kumar codes?

Dear EMS users: After a fresh EMS install, I'm trying to use the Kumar HTML code to publish some results while I come up to speed on doing it myself. My problem is that some syntax seems to have changed, so that ems_post no longer correctly invokes the production of images (although I can do it from...
