Re: gfsp25ptile too cold water temperatures

I will check the snow coverage - actually I do not expect a lot of snow in my domain...
By the way, do you know how to get an overview on the ptile datasets that are currently available? The list in the manual is quite old.

Thanky you very much for your help once more!

Re: gfsp25ptile too cold water temperatures

Thank you... I can't find the METGRID.TBL.ARW unless the other two files are in the package you mentioned. Is it somewhere else to be find?

Re: gfsp25ptile too cold water temperatures

Hello,

I run 3.4.1.15.16. Probably this is the reason as the problems occure since July 19th...
Does this mean I have to upgrade to UEMS? Will the existing runs (directories from the 3.4.1.15.16 still work or do I have to setup new runs?

Thanks for your help!

sstsport no loger available?

Hi,

I used to run forecasts with additional use of the sstsportptile/sstsport data set, but I do not receive any data from that any more (over Europe). Is this dataset no longer available? Is there anything instead?

Thanks for help!

gfsp25ptile too cold water temperatures

Hello, I currently run a forecast over Central Europe initialized by the gfsp25ptile data set. This worked fine for the last 2 years, but since yesterday I get much too low air temperatures alonge the costline of the north sea and the baltic. It seems that the water temperatures are much too cold. D...

Re: GFSPTILES - problem

Unfortunately is is not ok. It worked yesterday until the 12z run, then it failed again. Also all options to acquire the gfs data directly failed, except ftp.ncep.noaa.gov - which is a pain in the ass due to my low bandwidth.

Re: Using GFS 0.25° grid dataset

Will the gfs and gfsptiles dataset been updated the 14th as well to the new gfs 0.25? If I understand correctly it has to happen as the old gfs will not be available any more?
Does this mean we will have to replace the vtable for gfs and gfsptiles manually?

Re: kumar codes?

Just to ensure that I understand correctly: I do have to create a folder structure like this: $EMSHOME/ems/utility/...
I use EMS 3.4.1. I only have a "util" folder in $EMSHOME/wrfems. Is this the folder you mean and has the copy to be named "utility" or also "util"

Thanks for help!
