Re: extract data from wrf-ems for weather forecast

If it is confirmed that your grib files contain the same parameter name (with various x and y values in each grib file) REFC:entire atmosphere:x-y hour max fcst: you may try to use a regular expression to filter this parameter. For instance : my @tab_extract = ('(:REFC:entire\satmosphere:[0-9]+?-[0-...

Re: extract data from wrf-ems for weather forecast

I don't have ems 3.4 anymore, but if I list the content of the grib files of uems with wgrib2, I have for instance 456:2929096:d=2017090406:REFC:entire atmosphere:9 hour fcst: 457:2929854:d=2017090406:REFC:entire atmosphere:8-9 hour max fcst: with REFC as parameter name. Looking at the grads ctl fil...

Robert has updated UEMS, the latest version is the 15.99.8. Has anyone tested it?
Running UEMS on CentOS 6.9, I have an "Illegal instruction (signal 4) " error with real_arw.exe of version 15.99.8 !
I put back the previous versions (15.99.5) of real_arw.exe and wrfm_arw.exe , and all is OK now.

Re: geogrid not found

Hi dominic,

With UEMS 15.x, it is only possible to do a WRF ARW simulation, NMM is not included.

If you want to run NMM, i have either to use the older version of WRFEMS, or to try to compile by yourself le new NMM as discussed in this topic : viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1015

Re: UEMS 15.89.3 using only 1 core

Hello,
You may have to verify the configuration file /conf/ems_run/run_ncpus.conf in your domain main directory, and update if necessary the lines REAL_NODECPUS and WRFM_NODECPUS with the number of cores to be used.

Re: Different lake surface temperature initialization depending on the run length.

I think I have found an answer : ems_prep use by default an alternate method (mean surface temperature) of determining water temperatures. This alternate method can be canceled by using ems_prep --noaltsst . With this alternate method, the average temperature that will be assigned to water is determ...

Different lake surface temperature initialization depending on the run length.

Hello, I have observed a strange behavior of UEMS V 15.58.5 : while using the same domain, same configuration, same GFS grib files, I obtain different initial values of lake surface temperature depending on the length of the forecast. I am using a 3km domain (geo data: modis_lakes+modis_30s+modis_15...

Re: No button under the action section in domain wizard

Hello, The buttons are just below the "Actions" title. If you can resize the windows (i.e increase its height ) the buttons will appear at the bottom of the right panel. If the window is already maximized , you will be in trouble, because there is apparently no way to scroll down the right panel of ...
