OK, I must be wrong here. You use grib1 format? Then it is grib2ctl.pl file. Try now "which grib2ctl.pl", it shoud be, if I didn't customized it's location, wrfems/strc/ems_bin/grib2ctl.pl

Replace with this one:
ftp://ftp.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/wd51we/wgri ... rib2ctl.pl

That is the reason, but it should be fixed with all this.

Are you sure that you did this in two places:
Find line that says:
system "$gribmap -q -E -i gradsfil.ctl -> /dev/null";
(or something like that)

Change into:
system "$gribmap -q -E -big -i gradsfil.ctl -> /dev/null";

yes, of course.

Could I replace another time the gribmap file? I remember that the grads did'nt make any map with the new one

Yes go on now if you updated grib2ctl.pl update gribmap also. And also update wgrib from opengrads! I don't remember what exactly I did, but those are pretty much all tools in chain: grib2ctl.pl, gribmap, wgrib, and command argument -big to gribmap...

mmm nothing
201111040000_arw_wrfout_d01.ctl
nest 1
No hardcopy metafile open
All files closed; all defined objects released;
All GrADS attributes have been reinitialized
Open Error: Unknown keyword in description file
--> The invalid description file record is:
--> wgrib: missing required directory
The data file was not opened.
No files open
No files open
i must say that i have not saw the idx file after the ems_post command. On the other hand, I have copied the one from another run and different domain (could it be a wrong way?)

wait: in the ctl file I see only that:
wgrib: missing required directory
</usr1/wrfems/util/bin/Linux/x86_64>
---> at /usr1/wrfems/util/bin/wgrib line 165.
Big problem: Possible causes:
201111040000_arw_wrfout_d01.grb does not exist (bad name? wrong directory?)
201111040000_arw_wrfout_d01.grb is not a grib file
cannot write a temporary file /tmp/g25384.tmp (permissions? full disk?)
wgrib was not found (wgrib not on path, wrong directory?)
wgrib was compiled for a different machine or operating system

naturally:

- grb file exists;
- disk is not full.

what do you think about:
missing required directory
</usr1/wrfems/util/bin/Linux/x86_64>
