Use of Crash logs

I am have a consistent issue with simulations crashing -

Crash occurs with ems_run while setting the initial boundary conditions - Not sure how to use the log files ... there is a lot of
METGRIB.TBL errors with ... missing fields being replaced by default values

the crashes occur with an SN 15 error ... which is terminated by program system message ... I was thinking a hardware issue ...
but have kind of dismissed that ...

The error occurs with the primary domain at the same ... initial boundaries setting.

So I was thinking maybe flaws in the geodata on the system.

Any assistance appreciated

You need to post the error log.

metgrid troubles indicate problems with your initialisation data...

I'm not familiar with the details of uems pre-processing yet, but metgrid and geogrid look like they completed OK. The errors appear to be a MPI comms issue and it cannot find localhost. I presume you are running on a standalone machine.In run_info.conf does line 149-150 look something like this:

after that check your /etc/hosts file, make certain that you have localhost correctly defined here, it should be pointing to 127.0.0.1. Try using ssh to connect to localhost, make sure that works as well.

If you are on a cluster of some sort things will be more complicated, see the notes in the file.

Can you ping and ssh to local host?

should run OK. But on a 4 core machine, providing you are not using it for other tasks, 4 should be faster.
Thinking about it you probably can't ssh to localhost any way. I can't on my desktop test machine. I get port 22:connection refused but I can ping localhost

perl command I am guessing if we have hosts

127.0.0.1 localhost .... without a short name ...is that the issue has no name to look for? or is localhost the name its looking for?
