No geo* files found

With soon inclusion of the NEMS NMM-B model into the EMS package, WRF EMS changes its name and becomes UEMS.

No geo* files found

Post by charkowx » Fri May 13, 2016 3:41 pm

Hello,
I have been running UEMS 15.x for several months.
NOW it crashes with an error code 139 - segmentation fault -
I have reinstalled with the same result.
All of the geo files are installed in the data directory.

When I localize the domain using dwiz :
>Domain is located on charko at .../uems/runs/misc/static (ARW core)
>Geography files are in .../uems/data/geog

> geogrid.exe FATAL ERROR << exitCode=139

>- - - - - - - List of Output - - - - - - -

>List of geogrid.exe files found
> No geo_* files were found.

using ems_domain.pl --localize:
* Burn'n up 1 processors to localize your domain. Please ignore the smoke - Failed (139)

! Error running GEOGRID - System Signal Code (SN) : 11 (Invalid Memory Reference - Seg Fault)

While perusing the log/domain_geogrid_stdout.log file I saw the following:

> YOUR APPLICATION TERMINATED WITH THE EXIT STRING: Segmentation fault (signal 11)

! See domain_geogrid_stdout.log for more gory details.
contents of domain_geogrid_stdout.log:
===================================================================================
= BAD TERMINATION OF ONE OF YOUR APPLICATION PROCESSES
= PID 22347 RUNNING AT unknown002710663370
= EXIT CODE: 139
= CLEANING UP REMAINING PROCESSES
= YOU CAN IGNORE THE BELOW CLEANUP MESSAGES
===================================================================================
YOUR APPLICATION TERMINATED WITH THE EXIT STRING: Segmentation fault (signal 11)
This typically refers to a problem with your application.
Please see the FAQ page for debugging suggestions

The geogrid.log file is empty - there is nothing in the file.
running geogrid from the /runs/misc/ dir yields: Segmentation fault (core dumped)

CLUE - I was running out of disc space so cleaned up some 30GB of files in a totally unreated directory. Not sure if this is the cause but may have something to do with it.

Thanks for any suggestions.
