env | grep EMS command - what should output look like

Post by Howard » Tue Oct 04, 2016 9:23 pm

I have a machine that runs fine ... the output is along the line

EMS_RUN=/home/howard/EMS_user/uems etc etc ...

and thats the same for the other environment variables

machine which is struggling with environment variables implicated has a truncated environment variable missing off the home user path

EMS_RUN=EMS_user/uems/ ... etc etc

where is the problem?

I have reinstalled UEMS and the path issue is morphed into some other problem

can run dwiz from prompt in the home directory ... but runs amuck in the localising of the domain.

cant find GEOGRID_TBL ... but the files are exactly where they should be .... environment variable issue?

EMS_cshcr

setenv DW $EMS_HOME/domwiz
setenv DW_BIN $DW/bin

... now when I type in terminal
echo $DW
I get
/home/howard/EMS_user/uems/domwiz which is to be expected
but when
echo $DW_BIN i get
~/EMS_user/uems/domwiz/bin why does it render it with the tilde mark (OK home director) but why could this be throwing some thing out?

Ever so confused .... most of the environment stuff seems good to go ... but dwiz is unhappy help please

Solved ...
the issue was in the EMS.cshcr file

... under tsch

the was an issue with the initial environment variable which missed out the

/home/username/ems home directory

so added that and works like clock work
