Re: EMS servers - connection problem

I haven't managed to get the new intel binaries to work and I’m getting an error with emsupp, but will look at that tomorrow. The Intel binaries also fail for me, although they pass the test in the README: patti@linux:~/00_UEMS/users/00_uems/uems/bin> ldd wrfm_arw.exe.intel linux-vdso.so.1 (0x00007...

restart dir/files missing?

I just installed the latest version of uEMS and can't seem to activate restart. I tried setting the config file appropriately and even tried the --rstint 360 option in ems_run. Maybe there's something I missed?

Thank You!

new capability

So Robert just released a version of UEMS with an important new capability. Given the dire nature of the 2018 IPCC Sr15, the 2018 US NCS, and other reports, such as https://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/148cb0_a0d7c18a1bf64e698a9c8c8f18a42889.pdf - this capability will allow rapid application of high quali...

Re: cluster - UEMS install required on each node?

Hi - I just used my regular go-to linux distro (in my case, OpenSuSE Leap 15.0). There is a picture on the FB page I created... https://www.facebook.com/groups/AwesomeEMSUsers/ I have done a little more. It was pretty easy after export ing the shared UEMS directory (which exists on the head node) - ...

Has anyone used available UCAR climate-data-for-WRF

Has anyone used these datasets with UEMS? The data apparently are ingested directly into WRF with metgrid . https://rda.ucar.edu/datasets/ds316.1/index.html#!description I would like to know where one would intercept the existing UEMS perl scripts to ignore everything before the metgrid step. A seco...

Re: cluster - UEMS install required on each node?

Nope - not required. Turns out the UEMS directory must be shared ("exported") to all compute nodes. Problem solved. Did I miss that in the docs somewhere or is that just something a cluster-builder knows intrinsically?

cluster - UEMS install required on each node?

Dear UEMS users: I'm having an odd issue on a cluster. I set up and tested passwordless ssh on my mini-cluster (2 12-cpu boxes). It works well, except but UEMS crashes from an error I don't understand - does UEMS have to be installed on all nodes in a cluster? I didn't see that suggested anywhere in...

land surface datasets

Dear UEMS users: I'm a little confused about land surface datasets in UEMS. I've tried using them, but get errors, so I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong. Basically, I am trying to avoid long integration to "spin up" surface moisture/transpiration - so I'm assuming that adding a land surface dataset ...

Minor bug: If the .grib files aren't all available in RAP - then you can get an error like: > ems_prep --dset rap --length 6 --domain 3 --cycle 12 && ems_run --length 6 --domain 3 --cycle 12 (...) Re: Docs?

That looks good - I thought there might be an --install option.
