Hello, Using NMM I have noted that on occasion, the speed of SFC WIND GUST is actually less (by 1-2kt) than the wind speed calculated from U&V vectors at 10m. Hello all, WRF post processor gives SFC WIND GUST the field code of 180, 105, 10. Grib users with zyGrib reader are not able to view wind gust as the reader requires 180, 1, 0 for surface wind gust. Hello all, I run a daily 12km with a 4km nest of the East Mediterranean and I am getting rather exaggerated forecasts for rain which is usually rare at this time of the year. Hi Luis, It depends if you have the latest version. Take a look in the ~/wrfems/conf/grib_info folder at the xxxxx_gribinfo.conf files. It is the first part of the name (i.e. xxxx) that counts and is used with the ems_prep command line option --sfc. In my installation I have 4 options - ssthr, sstpt...

Hi,

I'm using ssthr for sst data using the following argument in the ems_prep command

--sfc ssthr
or

Code: Select all

SFC = ssthr
in ems_autorun.conf.

I have not compared model output with or without sst. I assume it is doing the job.

I have been experiencing seg faults in 3 different models with resolutions of 9:3 and 12:4 kms. The crashes always occur within 15 seconds of a mod 3 == 0 hour into the simulation (as soon as 9hrs and up to 75hrs). Reruns with the same initialization data always crash at exactly the same point.
