Post by giuseppelb » Tue Nov 27, 2018 11:52 am

Hi, I run
ems_prep --dset hrrrpt --date 20181115 --cycle 15 --length 48 --analysis
ERROR:

! Computational Domain Too Large

The areal coverage of your computational domain lies outside that of the
3km CONUS HRRR grid at 37.9, 12.9 (-2,-2). You can not use the hrrr
dataset with this domain.
whats?

That dataset does not cover your whole domain. Dataset that you want to use has to cover whole domain area or run can't be initialized. Either reduce domain area to fit within hrrr data, or use different dataset.

The HRRR model only covers the United States, southern Canada and northern Mexico.

OK. Can we see screenshot of your domain (if you use Domain Wizard), or namelist.wps file contents (if you use any other tool to make domain)?

Yes, i didn't saw your post about Europe. As Canuck64 explained above, HRRR is North America dataset and you are trying to use it for Europen area. That is the problem. In Europe, only GFS works with EMS.
