V 21.11.1: where is PRMSLMSL??

Post by meteo60 »

Hi

I did a fresh installation with 21.11.1 and since then I no longer have the prmslmsl data.
prmslmsl is still present in the ctl for grads but there is no data.
I haven't changed my settings.
Have others noticed this issue?

Thanks

Have the same issue. The field is empty for most forecasting hours but a few odd ones look like this: (GRADS analysis)

The domain was imported from previous V 21.10.1.

Hi,
I have the same problem.
The grib file has a record for PRMSL but no data is shown. The same happens if PRES_ON_MEAN_SEA_LVL is requested.
I swapped the emsupp to an older version as a work around.

Has anyone found a better solution?

Hi,

The following seems to work, but not sure if it is a better solution.
In emsupp_cntrl.parm file, under "Mean Sea Level Pressure Fields", change to the following:

(MAPS_PRMSL_ON_MEAN_SEA_LVL) SCAL=(6.0) ! Pressure (PRMSL; MAPS) Reduced to Mean Sea Level (Pa) FNUM=(445)
L=(00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000)
(MSLET_ON_MEAN_SEA_LVL) SCAL=(6.0) ! Pressure (MSLET; Mesinger) Reduced to Mean Sea Level (Pa) FNUM=(023)
L=(00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000)
(PRMSL_ON_MEAN_SEA_LVL) SCAL=(6.0) ! Pressure (PRES; Shuell) Reduced to Mean Sea Level (Pa) FNUM=(105)
L=(10000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000 00000)
