Wgrib2 filenameinput.grb -set_date X - grib_out filenameoutput.grb

Or

Wgrib2 filenameinput.grb - set_date X
Wgrib2 -grib_out filenameoutput.grb

The command -set_date is ok.. But using -grib_out the following message is displayed

FATAL ERROR: Could not open filenameoutput.grb
Thanks

Dear all,
I'm sorry, I solved the problem..
the problem is due to the fact that the file wgrib2.exe was on the windows path and some restrictions occurs at the new file opening...

changing the path, the option -grib_out works well...
thanks a lot...
Sorry...

Now..I have to convert Grib1 file to Grib2..
is it possible..?
Thanks a lot.

Yes, cnvgrib tool from here:

http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/codes/GRIB2/

However, I'm not sure if it can be built on windows? Try and let us know.

I could if you run linux. I never used anything of that on Windows, neither I have idea where to start at all, that is foreign land to me. Maybe someone else can help with Windows.

EDIT: I found that GrADS web page has it (older version) compiled for windows:
ftp://cola.gmu.edu/grads/cnvgrib-1.1.7-cygwin.zip

Try it and let us know if it works. Judging from file name, maybe you need cygwin though...

Dear all,
again I'm here to ask your help... I'm sorry...
installed Simply Fortran on Ubuntu 18 in order to use cnvgrib routines.

unfortunately, when building all files included on the folder http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/codes/ ... -3.1.0.tar
The following errors occurs..

Generating Makefile... Okay

I'm sorry, maybe the problem is trivial , but I'm not a Fortran expert...
Can you help me?
