question of ptiles strc

Post by dominic » Fri Mar 28, 2014 7:50 am

Hello everyone, I do not know if you can do this, so I wanted to ask you this question.

Sometimes it happens that the files on the server STRC (tiles) are not present or for errors or unavailability.

You could create a script to check the data on the server? ie, if the data is not present the script must stop the download and run the model to avoid overwriting good data with empty data.

Because of this, I switched all serious projects that I administer to gfs instead of gfsptile.

hello ivan, a forecasting system is important in all of this. As if the data are not there, the generation of maps of weather forecasts or (such as meteoadriatic.net) is compromised.

sincerely over the past 30 days at least 4 times the tiles were compromised, result of the data and plot were empty .....

while creating a control with php does not solve the problem, you must perform a run with data from the day before, or wait for the release of new data.

I'm thinking about how to remedy the problem, the only solution is the data gfs should set that in the absence of data ptiles (you have to download the data gfs)

any suggestions?

I never tried to write such script. I just set gfs instead of gfsptile and problem solved. However, you have to have good download speed to run this smoothly and ungrib phase will also be somewhat longer (much bigger files to ungrib).

thanks ivan, so basically I should do?

ems_prep-dset gfs-length 48 - Cycle 00

just do me a wrong date and the run is not executed, probably after dset gfs must specify the date

how can I?

From which directory?

BTW, use instead:

Code: Select all

ems_autorun --dset gfs --length 24
And then see what you get.
